Welcome to the official website of the Canadian Women’s Club of Barbados!
Founded in May 1922, the CWC is a social club and service organization that has enjoyed a continuous active presence in Barbados for over 90 years, making it the oldest functioning International Women’s Club in Barbados.
Today, the CWC continues to provide a wonderful venue for expatriate Canadian women to socialize with one another in a congenial setting as well as functions as a welcoming committee to newly-arrived women in Barbados.
The CWC has adapted and grown stronger over the years by constantly focusing on its three core objectives: (i)to gather socially in a spirit of loyalty, friendship and helpfulness to each other; (ii) to work collectively for the common good of both Canada and Barbados; and (iii) to participate in, and provide support for, community service projects that benefit the lives of the less advantaged women and children of Barbados.
Our Club has a long and distinguished record of community involvement. Fundraising activities both within the Club and around the island have been successful and rewarding to our members who choose to get involved. Over the years, the CWC has contributed to many diverse Barbadian causes ranging from health care, education, poverty relief, and care for the young and elderly. Our Community Services and Fundraising Committees, along with our Members’ support do great work for which we are justifiably proud.
The CWC holds a monthly meeting from September through June each year and promotes, hosts and assists with many other social events and special groups that encourage members to get together throughout the year.
